Hey all,
So if you read in the PoA section, I've been doing my annual read-through of the HP books. It's always interesting to notice the little tidbits here and there that you never really noticed before, and that just don't make much sense, or are very interesting on their own (but for this topic we'll stick with the things that don't make sense  ).
For PoA, it was the discrepancy between OWL results. Fred and George receive there's at the end of term, while in Order of the Phoenix Harry, Ron, and Hermione don't get there's until the summer.
Just finished GoF tonight, and another thing came to my attention. I'll have to read through OotP carefully when I start it up tomorrow to see if JKR mentions anything about it, but at the end of term, when Harry, Ron, and Hermione ride the carriages back to the train station, there are no thestrals pulling them! What the heck??
Can't wait to see what I find in OotP, HBP, and DH! |

I think the time discrepancy could be explained by the fact that all that was going on.....I mean if the world is falling apart do you really expect your report card on time?
I thought that was explained by the fact that most can't see them....
And Harry had never paid attention before ...
I think I saw that same thing talked about before......

the OWLs one is just a teeny mistake, so that one isn't too bad.
As for the Thestrals: The death has to sink in before you can see them. Which is why Harry didn't see them on the way back to the train station. After the summer though the death really had sunk in so he could see them.

That is what I thought, but for some reason I thought that he could in the book. I guess I will need to reread and see. I was hoping maybe someone was already reading and would know.

Haha yea, I fixed my post after I remembered XD
And we found out in OotP, he says it to someone near the end I think, because he was one that had someone else behind him since he knew where it was.
