So, I know we all saw it in the news today!!! Scholastic announced their plans to release the 10 year anniversary edition of Sorcerer's Stone exactly 10 years to the day after the first release!!! So I was wanting to know what everyone thought about it and who all was planning on buying it!!! Here is a picture of the new cover and I personally hope for a midnight release party just to keep the old magic and fun going because the midnight parties were some of the best moments in my life.

Yea, i am definitely getting it!
For the cover and then apparently JKR has some special stuff in it!
Sooo excited!!!!
but its 30 bucks...EW hopefully they will do it cheap as usual haha

| All the books have always been retail for $30....then places like B&N have it cheaper....I already checked and B&N is going to have it for $20....still want to know if there is going to be a release party. |

I'm really excited for this, I only with they had gone with the original title of Philosopher's Stone, I would love to have U.S. Version with the original title.
I really hope the price point of $30 means there will be more content than just a forward or something. I would love it if she included some of her discarded first chapters...especially the one with the Minister of Magic appearing to the Prim Minister. It would be great if she made it like a Director's Cut with added materials and chapters throughout the book so you have to re-read it to find all the new material. I'm sure these are just pipe dreams but I would be really excited if she did this.

| I'm sure that there is plenty of good new things added to the book. Just everyone needs to overlook the $30 price tag. All the books have always retailed for $30. Then of course everyone marks the price down to try to out sale the other. I'm expecting to pick it up somewhere between 15 and 20. I'm curious myself though as to what kind of "extra content" will be added to the book. Jinxie you reminded me that I need to finally read my copy of Philosopher's stone. I have been meaning to read it since I've never read the book with its original title. |

| September 30th I believe....and while I was at my interview at B&N I asked if they had any more release parties scheduled for this year and she said Breaking Dawn was their last but they would be staying open until midnight for this...Brisingr and Tales of Beedle the Bard....they just wouldn't be offering any activities. |

So, um...how lame is it that the only "bonus material" is a concept drawing of Snape?
I like the cover but I cannot bring myself to buy it now. What a huge missed opportunity to make this something really special

I really love the hagrid picture on the inside
and the  drawing is cool
I would have been mad at myself if i didnt get it...because I eventually want all the UK and US editions for the books. So far I just have all UK paperback and US hardcover...and in july ill have all the US paperback
