The British-born "Harry Potter" author will give four readings in the United States this fall, her first U.S. promotional tour since 2000, when she was just becoming an international sensation and had yet to give birth to her second and third children.

"What J.K. Rowling loves most is to talk with her readers, and that is what she will be able to do on this very special U.S. tour," Lisa Holton, president of Scholastic Trade and Book Fairs, said Thursday in a statement.

Rowling's seventh and final Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," comes out July 21, but will surely remain deep in her fans' hearts when she arrives in the United States in October.

On Oct. 15, she will read at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, followed three days later by an appearance at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, then two readings Oct. 19 at New York's Carnegie Hall. Rowling, 41, will take questions at each of the readings and sign books.

Don't bother rushing for tickets. For three of the readings, Scholastic will pick schools to send children. For the fourth reading, at Carnegie Hall, 1,000 fans will be chosen from a Scholastic sweepstakes, with each winner receiving two passes.

France to get Harry Potter stamp! Collection will feature Harry, Ron, Hermione

The boy wizard will appear on a special set of 10 stamps created by the French Postal Service and Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

The collection featuring Harry, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, costs e6.18 ($8.10) and was unveiled at La Fete du Timbre et de l'Ecrit 2007 (Stamp Festival) on Saturday in 115 cities in Gaul. The fest continues throughout March.

"To be immortalized on a postal stamp ranks among the highest of honors," said Brad Globe, prexy of WB Consumer Products.

LONDON (Reuters) - British actor Daniel Radcliffe has signed up for the final two films in the seven-part Harry Potter series, his spokeswoman said on Friday.

The 17-year-old, who has just won rave reviews for his performance in Peter Shaffer's controversial play "Equus," will start filming the sixth movie based on the bestselling books by J.K. Rowling in September, she added. Radcliffe shot to fame in 2001 when he appeared as the boy wizard in the first Harry Potter film. The hit franchise, which continues with the fifth installment called "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" later this year, has amassed around $3.5 billion globally at the box office and turned the teenager into a multi-millionaire. Rowling recently announced that the seventh and final book in the series, called "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be published on July 21, but it is not clear when the film version will be made. The first six books have sold in excess of 325 million copies worldwide. Movie commentators had wondered if Radcliffe could sustain the role of Potter throughout the film franchise, and whether the raunchy publicity shots of Radcliffe for "Equus" would alienate him from his core fan base.

GGC and VoldemortsVault.com reader Ryan reported in that he found this article on-line about Gentle Giant Studios and in it they mention a Harry Potter Grindylow Mini Bust and have several prototype pictures posted as well.

According to the article Scott from Gentle Giant Studios says, "I did a Grindylow a character from Harry Potter which is now a figure from Gentle Giant Ltd. The whole idea was for me to show that ZBrush was an effective sculpting tool for creating recognizable characters from concepts or photos. The guys were so thrilled with the results of this test it became a product.". It looks great but no word yet if this ever made it to the final table for production.
